The vehicle handover of eleven water rescue equipment vehicles took place on 17.07.2021 in Stuttgart to the Ministry of the Interior, for Digitalization and Communities. The water rescue vehicles were then delivered by the ministry to the DLRG Landesverband Baden e.V. and the DLRG Landesverband Württemberg e.V.

The equipment vehicles (GW-W) are each based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter panel van 519 CDI long AWD with a permissible total weight of 5000 kg. The engine output is 140 kW (190 hp) in coordination with a 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. As a drive type, the equipment carts have a selectable all-wheel drive with a gear reduction. In addition, the base vehicle has numerous safety systems such as crosswind assist, lane keep assist, headlight assist, etc.

The water rescue vehicles are also well equipped in the area of air conditioning. Thus, a roof air conditioner always ensures the optimum ambient temperature in both cooling and heating mode. For damp and wet equipment components and clothing, a loading and unloading system is also available. Ventilation system integrated in the crew and equipment room. The vehicles are also equipped with thermal insulation. The complete crew and equipment room is equipped with black color glazing. This keeps heat away from the outside and is also opaque.

The AURUM roof warning bar system from the company guarantees maximum safety through the best warning effect. Rauwers from Altenkirchen. The crew compartment is equipped, among other things, with four waterproof M1 comfort seats. The seats offer maximum seating comfort for emergency personnel. The interior in the crew compartment convinces with high-quality materials and best workmanship. The entire design of the crew compartment is presented in a modern design language. The equipment room has a sophisticated shelf module system which guarantees the safe storage of the operational DLRG load in waterproof modules. The modules are designed with tested fall and holding systems. Thus, the DLRG load is effectively secured. The modular racking system also allows the optional inclusion of summer or winter loading, taking into account the loading safety regulations. The shelving module systems have a stability-oriented connection technology. Together with the innovative geometry, this creates a constant in terms of robustness, reliability and durability. Highest flexibility remains for later changes and extensions. In the modular system, heavy-duty diving equipment pullouts are also implanted on the left and right of each rear entry. When extended, the pull-outs guarantee ergonomic accommodation of the diving equipment by the emergency services.
