The new MTW for the Winnenden Volunteer Fire Department Zipfelbach is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Tourer 316 CDI Standard RWD with 163 hp and a gross vehicle weight of 3500 kg.
The new emergency vehicle of the large district town of Winnenden complies with the technical construction specification for fire fighting vehicles in Baden-Württemberg according to DIN EN 1846-2.
Other features on the base car include a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, LED high-performance headlights and an MBUX multimedia system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The trailer coupling can be converted to a jaw or ball head coupling in just a few steps thanks to an innovative exchange system. The roof warning bar system consists of a Hänsch DBS 2000 LED basic bar with an integrated Martin Fanfare compressor system. The rear guarding is provided by an LED signal master in Solaris technology and an integrated rear warning system from Rauwers GmbH. The signal and warning technology in the front area is completed with an HBE front and crossing flash system in LED design. Illumination of the outdoor work environment is provided by LED perimeter lighting and two LED rear work lights.
The glare-suppressing BINZ center console in the driver’s compartment is used to accommodate the radio and communications equipment, and a charging unit for two ADALIT hand lamps is also integrated there. The rear area of the center console is designed to hold equipment. Looking into the crew compartment, one immediately notices the three 2-seater bench seats with ample space, thanks to the wheelbase of 3650 mm. Retaining systems under the seat benches guarantee the safe accommodation of Euro-Fix boxes. A removable 2-piece crash-tested BINZ partition grid protects the emergency forces in the crew compartment. The cargo area is lined with high-quality aluminum duet panels. All scaffolded retaining and load securing systems for holding the MTW load comply with DIN regulations on load securing.
We at BINZ would like to thank you for the good and constructive cooperation and wish the comrades of the Zipfelbach department a safe journey at all times as well as successful and safe operations in the Rems-Murr district.
